Creepy porcelain dolls were placed outside eight separate homes in San Clemente this week. But what’s really creepy about is that there are young girls living in each of those homes who go to the same elementary school, not to mention the dolls actually look a little like them.
Here are two of the dolls in question, to give you a sense of just how creepy they really are:
Authorities aren’t quite sure what motivated the doll-dropping, but Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jeff Hallock said, “Anything that has the potential to involve children causes us some concern.”
They’re not sure if it’s a prank or something more sinister, but the dolls do resemble the girls whose houses they were left at, so it’s being taken very seriously.

Update- July 25th, 10:45 pm: The person who left the dolls has been found. It was an old woman who left the dolls at the houses as a “kind gesture” and there was no malice behind it. Well then.
