Thursday Night Football returns tonight. And the pressure is on for coach Rex Ryan‘s current squad, the Buffalo Bills, and his former club, the New York Jets. The Bills and the Jets square off tonight in Orchard Park, NY, in a match-up of unusually desperate 0-1 teams.
The reason for the sense of urgency is that both face extremely difficult schedules over the next few weeks. The homestanding Bills are staring 0-4 in the face with a loss, as they have the Cardinals and the Patriots over the next two weeks. While the Jets have road games with the Chiefs, Steelers, and Cardinals coming up in addition to a home date against the Seahawks. Simply put: tonight’s loser is in extremely deep trouble.
Tonight’s game will be the first ever to be streamed live on Twitter as part of the social media outlet’s agreement with the NFL. Twitter will broadcast 10 Thursday games this season, and have exclusive “immersive” pregame content on Periscope. Here is the link for the live Twitter stream.
Kickoff is at 8:25 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms/strong> have the call. In addition to Twitter, CBS and the NFL Network will stream the game on their respective apps. Those apps can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Windows Store.
