Jon Stewart Will Soon Lobby on Capitol Hill

Jon Stewart will appear on Capitol Hill next week when he joins 9/11 first responders to lobby on behalf of health care programs for them.

It’s clear the recently-departed Daily Show host isn’t limiting his post-retirement appearances to lighter fare, like his surprise cameo on Stephen Colbert‘s Late Show debut Tuesday night.

According to USA Today, Stewart will be in Congress next week, along with first responders, to make sure that health care programs meant to take care of those first responders are renewed before they expire.
