New York authorities are on the hunt on Friday after a thief broke into a Secret Service agent’s car and took a laptop containing sensitive information about President Trump‘s home.
New York Daily News reports that the device was stolen on Thursday morning while the car was parked outside of the agent’s house in Brooklyn. The computer reportedly contains floor plans and evacuation measures for Trump Tower, as well as information about Hillary Clinton‘s 2016 presidential campaign.
Trump Tower remains under heavy guard by Secret Service and the New York Police Department, especially since Melania Trump and her son Barron continue to live there instead of the White House. The agent said that the computer didn’t contain information on the White House or foreign leaders, though there were other “sensitive” documents that were taken, and the information on the computer could be problematic for national security.
CBS 2 reports that NYPD tracked down the agent’s bag, and that the contents have been sent to a crime lab. The laptop, however, was not among the recovered possessions.
