Mitt Romney’s Approval Rating Post-Election Is – You Guessed It – 47%

Mitt Romney just can’t seem to escape his now infamous comments on “the 47 percent.” Not only was his final share of the popular vote just about 47 percent, but now, his approval rating post-election is the stuff of Jon Stewart‘s dreams: you guessed it, 47 percent.

POLITICO, along with George Washington University, conducted a poll which found that both Romney and his erstwhile running mate Paul Ryan (R-WI) are both viewed favorable by 47 percent of likely voters. The rest of the poll numbers don’t bode well for other GOP leaders: 36 percent of likely voters have never heard of Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and 34 percent feel negatively toward House Speaker John Boehner. Although the numbers are a little better for potential presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, he’s still viewed unfavorable by nearly 34 percent of likely voters.

The same poll found President Obama‘s approval rating to be at 52 percent among likely voters.
