Murdoch on Taking in Refugees: Maybe ‘Special Exception for Proven Christians’
Rupert Murdoch tweeted tonight about exceptions he thinks should be granted for Christian refugees trying to come to the United States:
Obama facing enormous opposition in accepting refugees. Maybe make special exception for proven Christians.

President Obama pushed back today against the idea of a religious test for refugees, saying, “That’s shameful. That’s not American. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion.” But some Republicans have expressed sentiments similar to Murdoch’s; Ted Cruz is planning to introduce a bill to ban Muslim Syrian refugees from coming to the United States.
Murdoch, of course, got plenty of blowback for the tweet:
.@rupertmurdoch This can't be a real Tweet. Can it? Somebody must have hacked Murdoch's account.

.@rupertmurdoch do you have any idea, even the remotest notion, of what Jesus preached?

.@rupertmurdoch you did NOT just say "proven Christians". This is the most insane phrase of all time.

@rupertmurdoch or maybe be kind and don't perpetuate religious intolerance?

Only let the "proven Christian" refugees in the US, says Rupert Murdoch.
Possibly the least Christ-like response possible?
