An employee at a shooting range in Riverside, Calif. claims San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook practiced firing a military-style weapon before last Wednesday’s alleged terrorist attack unfolded.
The Los Angeles Times reports that a co-worker of Riverside Magnum Range firearms instructor John Galletta described Farook as “a normal guy” when he visited the range sometime before the attack. Since the investigation is still ongoing, Galletta was unable to tell the paper how often Farook visited the facility.
However, it was enough that RMR gave the FBI surveillance footage and customer logs that purportedly show Farook visiting the range and practicing with an AR-15. The gun, Galletta noted, was Farook’s own weapon. It wasn’t immediately clear if the shooter brought any others to practice with.
The news comes on the heels of the FBI’s announcement on Monday that both Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik had been radicalized “for some time.”
