Fox contributor and actress Stacey Dash made the case on her Patheos blog that Donald Trump isn’t condoning violence, he’s just “street” from his tough New York City upbringing.
“There’s a lot of talk about Donald Trump being violent, condoning it, or at least inciting it,” Dash begins. “But this is a total misread of our next President. First of all, he’s not responsible for what every random guy does — out of thousands.”
“Second of all, he’s not violent, he’s just ‘street,'” she continues. “He was born in Queens.”
Dash readily admitted that Trump had a privileged background and wasn’t “hustling on the street, dodging bullets… But there is something about growing up in New York, a certain toughness instilled, a certain level of ‘street’ that can’t be ignored.”
“He knows both sides of the street. He knows the game. And he knows how to WIN IT. Like I’ve said… he doesn’t bring a knife to a gun fight!” she said, using a phrase the Trump campaign has argued is a clear incitement to violence.
