The Eighth Person from Trump Jr.’s Russian Attorney Meeting Has Been Identified
News sources have discovered that Ike Kaveladze was the eight person in the room when Donald Trump Jr. and his father’s campaign staff met with a Russian lawyer in order to obtain dirt on Hillary Clinton. Scott Balber, Kaveladze’s attorney, confirmed the news with CNN and Washington Post.
Kaveladze is the Vice President of Crocus Group, a real estate development company run by Azerbaijani-Russian oligarch Aras Agalarov. Agalarov hosted the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow back in 2013, and his son, pop star Emin Agalarov, performed during the event.
Emin Agalarov’s publicist, Rob Goldstone, was the contact who initially emailed Trump Jr. about attending the meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya. According to Balbar, Kaveladze attended the meeting as a translator and a representative for Agalarovs’ company.
Kaveladze has U.S. citizenship, and Balbar insists that his client “never had any engagement with the Russian government in any capacity.” Balbar also said Kaveladze will cooperate with Robert Mueller and other prosecutors involved in the ongoing investigations into Russia’s 2016 election interference.
Trump Jr.’s meeting is still facing major scrutiny due to questions about how many others joined him, Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner during the discussion. Aside from Veselnitskaya, Goldstone, and Kaveladze, it would seem they were joined by translator Anatoli Samochornov and former Soviet counter intelligence officer Rinat Akhmetshin.
