Trump Aims at Mueller Probe: ‘A Total WITCH HUNT With Massive Conflicts of Interest!’

After a week of relatively few tweets from the social media friendly commander in chief, President Donald Trump is back on the platform Monday doing what he does best: promoting Fox & Friends and railing against the Russia investigation.
In a missive likely inspired by the questions special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly sent the president over the weekend for their probe into his campaign’s Russia ties, Trump tweeted: “A total WITCH HUNT with massive conflicts of interest!”

The “conflicts of interest” Trump is referring to likely have to do with his attempts to tie the Mueller investigation to the firing of Andrew McCabe. The deputy FBI director was ousted days before his retirement after an internal FBI report concluded he improperly disclosed information to reporters, allegations he denies.
The president has harbored disdain for McCabe for a little while now, taking aim in December at his wife’s political career:
How can FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the man in charge, along with leakin’ James Comey, of the Phony Hillary Clinton investigation (including her 33,000 illegally deleted emails) be given $700,000 for wife’s campaign by Clinton Puppets during investigation?

In response to his firing, McCabe said in a statement, “This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally. It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel investigation, which continue to this day. Their persistence in this campaign only highlight the importance of the Special Counsel’s work.”
