WATCH: Meeting of the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity LIVE STREAM
President Trump put together the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity because he claims that millions of people voted illegally in the last presidential election, which is why he lost the popular vote.
Today, the commission will have their first public meeting streamed live starting at 11 a.m EDT.
Vice President Mike Pence will chair the discussion, which is first public meeting since the commission was created in May.
The commission has been under fire ever since Vice Chairman Kris Kobach requested all 50 states turn over their voter information on June 30. It has received a lot of backlash because of the amount of personal information that is included in that request: names, addresses, birth dates, party affiliation, felony convictions, military statuses, the last four digits of Social Security numbers and voting records dating back to 2006.
Reportedly 44 states have said they won’t turn over the information or will only give the amount that is legal, however Kobach says that is “fake news” and that 36 states have turned over the information.
It is no secret that a lot of states strongly oppose this breach of privacy, including Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, who had a strong comeback.
“They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi is a great State to launch from,” he said in the press release.
