White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah said today that there are “serious questions” about political bias at the FBI.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked him about Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) walking back that “secret society” thing:
Ron Johnson, who raised alarms this week about the FBI agents’ “secret society” text, just told me: “It’s a real possibility” the text was written in jest.

“I haven’t seen everything that Senator Johnson has access to,” Shah responded, “but we would say that there are serious questions about political bias at high levels at the FBI. They’ve existed for some time under the leadership of the previous director, James Comey.”
He pointed to “political manipulation” of the Clinton email investigation, as well as the Peter Strzok texts.
