WATCH: Robert De Niro Battles With Hecklers at Wild Biden Campaign Presser Attacking Trump Outside Court

President Joe Biden’s campaign showed up to former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial on Tuesday, and they brought some famous friends. But it probably didn’t have the impact they hoped.

Speaking first at the news conference — which, interestingly, was carried live by Fox News and not by CNN and MSNBC — was Biden-Harris campaign communications director Michael Tyler, who provided some trash talk to draw a contrast between Biden and Trump before introducing the headliner, Robert De Niro.

De Niro, who has leaned more into his criticism of Trump and support for Biden — including cutting an ad for the campaign — took to the podium and read a meandering speech while he was heckled by Trump supporters who chanted “Fuck Joe Biden” in the background.

De Niro also tussled with a heckler who came over to call former Metropolitan police officer Michael Fanone and former Capitol police officer Harry Dunn “traitors” as a car alarm honked repeatedly in the background.

De Niro: On January 6th, while Republican lawmakers despicably tried to keep the loser Trump — the loser Trump — in the White House, and Trump inspired insurrectionists to storm the Capitol, brave men and women from law enforcement put their lives on the line to defend this country, our democracy. They are the true heroes. These guys are the true heroes. They stood and put their lives on the line for these low lives, for Trump.

Heckler: They lied under oath.

De Niro: They lied under oath?

Heckler: That’s right.

De Niro: Who lied under oath? What are you telling me?

Heckler: Those two traitors behind you.

De Niro: Excuse me?

Heckler: Those two traitors behind you.

De Niro: They lied under oath?

Heckler: That’s right.

De Niro: What are you saying?

Heckler: They’re traitors.

De Niro: They’re traitors? I don’t even know how to deal with you, my friend. I don’t even know how to deal with you. They stood there. They didn’t have to. And there were other ones in there who probably were in with them a little bit, too. And they found a way to get around. Not these guys. They stood there and fought for us. For you. For you.

Heckler: They weren’t fighting for me.

De Niro: No? Yeah, no, they fought for you, buddy. You’re able to stand right here now.
