Bill Maher Comes to Laura Ingraham’s Defense Amid Ad Boycott: ‘Is That American?’

“I want to defend Laura Ingraham.”

Yes, Bill Maher said that tonight even as he acknowledged the Fox News host is a “deliberately terrible person.”

He expressed his strong disagreement with the attempted advertiser boycott after her tweet going after Parkland student survivor David Hogg.

When someone in the audience clapped at the boycott, Maher asked, “Really? Is that American?”

He even said of Hogg, “He complains about bullying? That’s bullying! I have been the victim of a boycott… It is wrong. You shouldn’t do this by team, you should do it by principle.

Eliot Spitzer and Heather McGhee pushed back and argued with Maher over the free speech question, with Maher saying this is a “very chilling atmosphere” where anyone can be targeted like this.
