Bill Maher Tells Jon Stewart Why Obama’s Religious Faith Is ‘Bullsh*t’

Bill Maher dropped by The Daily Show Monday night to talk with Jon Stewart about everything from Dick Cheney to the New York Mets, but they also touched upon religion and Maher went off on how President Obama is clearly an atheist.

Maher told Stewart if he ever ran for office, his slogan would be “Drugs are good and religion is bad,” and while the country’s not exactly ready for that platform, he believes “the needle has moved on both.”

That being said, Maher acknowledged the U.S. is a step behind on social issues, and mocked Hillary Clinton for name-dropping the Bible as her favorite book. But as for the current president, Maher said, “Obama’s always spouting spiritual bullshit and I don’t believe it for a second.”

He charged that Obama is very obviously an atheist and only publicly associated with Reverend Wright‘s church because it was politically expedient.
