Chris Cuomo Mocks Trump’s ‘Sippy Cup’ Water Drinking Technique: ‘I Hold it Like a Man’
President Donald Trump’s two-handed approach to hydration has garnered him plenty of headlines and Twitter hot takes. Sure, it’s juvenile to mock a man for the way he drinks water but, uh, you know, turnabout is fair play and all.
The newest entry in #Watergate #Hydrationgate happened yesterday, as Trump reached for a teensy glass of water as he delivered his big national security speech, using both hands to delicately quench his thirst. Twitter reached for the jugular, coming up with some classic burns, including (of course) “America Thirst.”
CNN’s Chris Cuomo also got in on the act, ridiculing the president on New Day Tuesday morning while playing up his own masculinity, as he is wont to do.
“Well, that is the sippy cup grip,” he told co-host Alisyn Camerota, as she suppresed laughter at Trump’s drinking display. “I don’t get all the hands thing.”
Cuomo then showed off a gigantic glass, claiming that to be the only vessel that provides his body with precious, precious water.
“I don’t know what it’s all about. This is what I drink out of and I hold it like a man, with one hand. That’s me,” he said. “I don’t think that’s a judgment.”
“You wanna hold a cup with all of your hands, that’s what you do.”
Camerota joined in, pointing at Cuomo’s oversized glass and saying “that’s what you do shots from.”
Cuomo responded, “only when I’m working.”
In other news, is it any wonder our president has trouble drinking water from a glass? The word on the street is that he consumes twelve cans of Diet Coke a day. Maybe he’s just jittery, or experiencing toxic shock.
