Stormy Daniels Lawyer Appears on MSNBC Beaming at Latest Trump News: ‘Merry Christmas!’
While speaking with reporters on Air Force One today, President Donald Trump said that he didn’t know about the $130,000 hush payment his attorney Michael Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels, adding that he didn’t know where the money came from to pay Daniels to be quiet about a 2006 sexual affair.
Shortly after the president made his remarks, Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti appeared on MSNBC — and he was absolutely elated over Trump’s comments.
“First of all let me say Merry Christmas to you,” Avenatti told host Ari Melber. “Because it’s a very Merry Christmas here in our camp. This is what happens when you have an undisciplined client. We waited for Christmas and lo and behold it’s arrived.”
Avenatti said that Trump was making his case “whole lot better,” adding that he’s not just happy, but “ecstatic.”
“If the president didn’t make the payment, in your view legally, does that mean he may not be able to enter into the case which he did in trying to take your client’s case out of court?” Melber asked.
“Our case is simpler than that, because if the president didn’t know anything about the payment, then he didn’t know anything about the agreement, and in that case, you can’t have an agreement,” Avenatti declared. “Then there is no NDA and all this bluster that we have seen Michael Cohen and others about how they’re going to take my client for everything she’s worth and go on an extended vacation. It’s all been proven to be baseless.”
