President Trump wouldn’t take questions today about the news of indictments against his old staffers, but he did get in a reminder about how he just loves the national political press.
The president is holding a meeting today to discuss the latest push for tax reform, as well as his upcoming 12-day trip to Asia. As he spoke, Trump declared that the media is “not all fake,” and he said that members of his administration will speak to local media outlets about his agenda while he is abroad.
“While I’m in Asia, members of my cabinet will be traveling around the country, talking directly to taxpayers and focusing on the regional media, which we find to be a much more credible media to be honest with you,” said Trump. “In fact, I found it to be incredible how good they are.”
Trump proceeded to say that he expects the House to pass a tax bill by Thanksgiving, which he said will be “the biggest tax event in the history of our country.”
