The Ryan Lochte story is getting crazier by the minute.
The Daily Mail is now reporting that Brazilian authorities are claiming that an X-Ray scan shows that Lochte and three US swimming teammates were in possession of “all belongings” the men claimed were stolen in Rio early Sunday morning.
The video below, obtained by the Daily Mail, shows Lochte and his fellow swimmers going through a metal detector shortly after they claimed to have been robbed. You can see the men removing watches and other items, which would seem to be prime targets for a thief. The Mail report says that investigators are claiming the swimmers reported that these items were stolen.
As we shared earlier, Lochte and teammate Jimmy Feigen‘s passports were ordered to be seized by a Brazilian judge, but Lochte is already home. The San-Antonio Express News is reporting that Feigen is still in Rio.
The crime for which Lochte and Feigen are reportedly under investigation carries with it a three year maximum sentence. Gunnar Bentz, and Jack Conger the other two swimmers in the video, have apparently not yet had their passports seized by Brazilian authorities. No word on their present whereabouts.
