Michele Bachmann Thinks Bill Clinton Wants To ‘Take Me Out’
Earlier this morning I noted that former President Bill Clinton was likely going to find himself in the crosshairs of some Tea Party leaders (other than Rush Limbaugh, that is) following his recent remarks on the similarities between America circa the Oklahoma City Bombing and today’s Tea Party rhetoric. Well he didn’t have to wait long. At a Tea Party rally in Chicago on Saturday Rep. Michele Bachmann told a crowd that Bill Clinton wanted to ‘take her out.’ As in, get rid of her because of her “gangster government” description of Barack Obama last week.
Bachmann’s remarks were, according to Bachmann, in direct response to Clinton calling her out by name in his now notorious speech at the Center for American Progress. Except that he didn’t. Actually, he didn’t mention anyone by name or use the word “gangster” in that speech. But let’s not let niggling facts get in the way. For the record, what Clinton did do was give an interview to the New York Times preceding that address in which he told the reporter that “They are not gangsters…They were elected. They are not doing anything they were not elected to do.”
This somehow translated to Bachmann as Bill Clinton wanting to ‘take her out,’ which she is apparently grateful for because she is a lowly second term congresswoman who is at the bottom of the food chain and he is making her famous. Funny that. Video of Bachmann’s remarks below.
