Clinton Soundbite: ‘Teabaggers Are So Inflamed Because We’re Winning’

Picture 3“The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning.”

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse paraphrasing Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, in a lunch with Democratic senators Tuesday

Clinton spoke with lawmakers today on the importance of passing health care reform, something he failed to do during his first term. According to Whitehouse and Politico, “Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said Clinton described the ongoing tea party protests against the Democratic agenda as a sign their party was making progress.”

“The point I want to make is: Just pass the bill, even if it’s not exactly what you want,” he reportedly said. “When you try and fail, the other guys write history.”

I think Whitehouse should use that as a slogan from now on, “Let’s just do something!”

I can see the commercials now:
“Hi, I’m Sheldon Whitehouse, Senator from Rhode Island. You know, we in congress work on a lot of legislation to deal with a lot of problems that effect you, the American citizen. That’s what we’re here for.

So I’m here to let you know, that we’ll be doing something. I’m not sure what that something is… I’m not sure if it will work, what it will cost, the negatives, the positives, or how it will fix the problem… but rest assured, I’m doing something.

So when there’s a problem, you can count on me… to do something. I might not help it, I might even make it worse… but at least I’ve done something.

My name is Sheldon Whitehouse… and I’m doing something… because something is better than nothing… I think.”

    What a dolt.

Republicans blocked health care reform over a decade ago. Claimed it to be a major victory. After Clinton left office, they had the Presidency for eight years and for a period owned all three branches.

Nada. No reform. No changes. No nothing.

Cutting taxes and ramping up military spending can’t solve everything. Maybe that’s why the GOP did jack squat and thus have zero credibility on this issue.

First Obama did it and now sagging old Bill “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” Clinton has picked up Anderson’s disgusting “tea bagging” term. Whether or not I agree with the Tea Party protesters is irrelevant, but when the only attack you can make is to use vulgar language against your opponent, your argument must be weak.

Don’t worry Anderson whenever I see “teabags” I still only think of you!

The left needs to understand what they are really confronting. They have been so enamored with “rules for radicals” that they now respond to every opponent with the same methodology. (1) Isolate, and (2) ridicule. They did it to Bush, to Cheney, to Palin, to Beck, to Joe the Plumber….to anybody and everybody in their way. They refuse to engage in ideas, and eternally reduce politics to sarcasm and ironic rejoinders.

But then with the Tea Parties and Town Hall meetings, the Left (and their media allies) made a mistake. They decided to isolate and ridicule tens of millions of Americans. Average moms and dads, everyday citizens…all of them got a taste of what it’s like when your ideas are NEVER engaged, your views NEVER heard, and you are just treated like the punchline to a joke.

Average people may wonder why we want to borrow $10 trillion more when we have no chance of every paying off the $3 trillion we already owe the Chinese. But just try to get K. Olbermann and R. Maddow or even the NY Times to answer that question. Good luck! But they will insult you for asking the question.

This will backfire. It has already started to blow up in the face of the Left. But they continue down this dangerous path of making everything (and ultimately themselves) into a big joke.

My advice to the media: start taking opposing views seriously. Otherwise no one will take you seriously. You will just be one more bloated talking head with declining ratings with a very ugly election facing you in ‘10.

But doing something, just for the sake of doing something is dumb and dangerous.

Hey, if anyone was going to use it… might as well be Bill. I mean, finally… a voice of experience. ;)

This smarmy, lying old horn-dog has the audacity to insult millions of TAX PAYING CITIZENS with his degrading “tea bagger” remark but it will come back to smack him across his puffy, jowled, pasty face. The real “TEA BAGGERS” are corrupt freaks like Barney Frank but the old horn-dog has probably dabbled in tea-bagging himself. Lefties just love “diversity.”

    Tea Bag THIS, Clinton!!

  • I bet Billy Boy has done some real tea bagging in his day. The only problem with his tea bagging to me is have you seen the women he has teabagged? Paula Jones, Monica or the blond with the dye job….egads he must be using one of those generic boxes of tea bags that sell for real cheap in the grocery store. Gotta admit, he’s still good for a great comment all these years later. Go Billy boy!

I got a teabag for ya right here, Bill. I’ll even pay for your dry-cleaning afterwards. You know how important that can be.

Wow! The NASCAR/KKK/NRA “tough guys” vomit forth their intellectual/moral weaknesses again today.
No vets there! Just the usual raw anger, bitterness, jealousy, confusion, discontent, personal-failure. You go, Lille Guys!!

Bill O’Reilly On Glenn Beck: “It Takes The Heat Off Me”

Is Bill O'Reilly softening as others on Fox News go more partisan or attack stronger? It's a case made today by the Los Angeles Times' Matea Gold, who talked to the longtime cable news ratings leader about his role at the network - and Glenn Beck.

Truth Or Fiction: Did 30 Rock Call Comcast A Porn Company?

    video

30 Rock is a fictional comedy whose writers consistently have Escher-esque fun with real-life influences and characters. But one has to wonder if the disparaging depiction of the fictional cable provider "Kabletown," and its revenue dependence on pay-per-view pornography isn't reflective of Comcasts' business model, and perhaps a concern in the halls of NBC HQ? Video after the jump.
