Fox News Leads Cable News Networks On Night Of Presidential Address With 3.5 Million Viewers

Cable news ratings, July 25, 2011:

•Fox News dominated the ratings for its coverage of the primetime addresses of President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner, hitting an average total audience of well over three million viewers in the 9 o’clock hour and more than 3.5 million total viewers between 9:01 and 9:16 p.m. ET, when the President spoke. CNN’s coverage attracted an average total audience of more than 2 million viewers, and MSNBC was third, with a total audience for the President’s fifteen minute address of just over 1.5 million.

•In the ten o’clock hour–dominated by analysis of the debt crisis speeches–Fox led, with an average total audience of 1.9 million viewers, followed by CNN with 1.1 million and MSNBC with just over one million.

    The actual ratings should be Fox and the others because all reps only watch Fox while independents and dems are scattered all over from MTV to CNN.
