Glenn Beck Finishing Week With #2 Cable News Show on Friday
Cable news ratings, July 31, 2009: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:
• Fox News host Glenn Beck finished as the #2 cable news show on Friday, in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic. The 5pmET show regularly wins the hour, but one of FNC’s prime time programs usually takes the silver (Bill O’Reilly is consistently #1).
• Richard Wolffe, filling in for Keith Olbermann, gave MSNBC’s Countdown a solid rating, with 244,000 in the demo and #2 during the 8pmET hour. Olbermann is back tonight – will the ratings be strong as people wait to hear what he has to say re Truce-gate?
• In the battle for #2 in prime time, MSNBC won in the demo, while CNN took total viewers.

BBC’s Sian Williams Would Read News Naked, If Allowed

Ah, Europe. With their laxer policies from everything from drinking to nudity, who wouldn't want to live there? But it's not all free-wheeling nudists Frenchmen all bicycles: BBC Breakfast host Sian Williams said she would read the news naked, if that's what it get her out of paying over $9k in taxes that she was trying to write off as expenses. But both her bosses and a tax tribunal said nay.
The Media’s Weird Love Affair With Glenn Beck
Is anyone in the media not talking about Glenn Beck? It's clear we here at Mediaite certainly spend a lot of time doing so, but it would appear the rest of the world is catching up. Are they ever. Just take my morning media consumption as an example.
