Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Mask Defiance Fines Have Cost Her Nearly a THIRD of Her Congressional Salary

As Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) continues her anti-masking crusade on the House floor, it would appear she has now lost almost one-third of her salary for the fines she has accrued.

Between her conspiracy theories, harassment of her colleagues, anti-vaccine crusade, and her attention-seeking grandstanding, you might’ve noticed the media coverage about how Greene keeps getting fined for defying the chamber’s mandatory mask rules. Greene and her fellow Republicans have failed in their past attempts to appeal the fines they’ve been slapped with, and now that Greene has been penalized 20 times for her rule-breaking, she’s facing a price tag of $48,000 in fines.

Most member of Congress are typically paid about $174,000 a year, quite a bit more than the average American citizen. While she isn’t quite there yet, Punchbowl News put Greene’s fines into perspective by noting that she’s on track to lose about a third of her salary because of her antics.

Fred Upton has been getting death threats) and seemed to find common cause with the Nation of Islam over their aversion to vaccines. The Nation of Islam, of course, is Louis Farrakhan’s group, which is seen as racist and antisemitic.
