Biden on Trump’s Debate Performance: ‘I’ve Never Seen Anybody Who Knew as Few Facts’

Vice President Joe Biden made his first Tonight Show appearance on Thursday, where he said he is thoroughly bemused that Donald Trump has managed the level of success he’s had with his presidential run.

Jimmy Fallon started by asking for Biden’s thoughts about the Monday night Trump/Clinton face-off, and if he had ever seen so much commotion over fact-checking before.

“I’ve never quite seen anything like that,” Biden told him. “I’ve never seen anybody who knew as few facts.”

Biden made this point while referencing the fact that he was the one who debated Sarah Palin back in 2008. He went on to criticize Trump on numerous fronts, saying that being excited for the housing crash shows more callousness than business smarts, and that potentially not paying federal income taxes is not something to brag about.

As the discussion continued, Biden also expressed concern about how much worry Trump has caused for America’s allies and for painting the country in such a negative light.

“I’ve never known of a candidate who knows as little about the world as this man does,” said Biden. “I don’t even think he understands how much damage he does by what he already said.”
