Fox & Friends Dismisses Elon Musk’s Attempts to Bury the Hatchet With Trump: ‘The President Simply Can’t Trust the Guy’

The hosts of Fox & Friends did not give Elon Musk too much credit for his wee-hours mea culpa following his attacks last week on President Donald Trump.

During a discussion in the show’s first hour Wednesday, the hosts mocked Musk over his 3 a.m. post on X in which he said he regretted some of his posts attacking the president because they “went too far.”

“It’s called the big, beautiful backtrack,” said co-host Ainsley Earhardt — making light of Musk’s opposition to the “big beautiful” budget bill that started the battle with Trump.

Lawrence Jones suggested Musk’s criticism went too far for Trump to turn the other cheek.

“When he took it public, and he started saying some of the talking points from the left where it was impeachment, Epstein files, and all that, he lost a little credibility — a lot of credibility,” Jones said. “I think they will make up, but they’re never going to be as close as they were before because the president simply can’t trust the guy now.”

Brian Kilmeade entertained the possibility of a reconciliation after Trump’s July 4 deadline to get his signature budget legislation passed.

“[If] Elon could just stay out of the way and let the politics happen and the bill be defined, the president would be more than willing to talk it out after July 4th,” Kilmeade said.

After Earhardt argued the two will “definitely” make up, Kilmeade and Jones threw cold water on the idea that a truce would be easy to achieve.

“He can’t go Democrat,” Kilmeade said. “Everything that they stand for, he has come out against.”

“It’s crazy,” Jones added.

“He won’t go Democrat,” Earhardt said. “He just didn’t like the bill because it wasn’t in his best interest for his company.”
