It might not be a surprise that Glenn Beck was uninspired by the sit-in held by Democratic members of the House of Representatives over gun law inaction. What might be more of a surprise is that Beck said that those reps surrendered any claim they had as civil rights heroes to the pro-gun people.
Beck set his sights on John Lewis in particular, saying it was ironic that an icon of the civil rights movement now decided to sit-in to “take people’s rights away.”
“He has become a clown,” said Beck. “This has made these people, these civil rights leaders, into absolute clowns.”
Beck then pointed to the ACLU’s opposition to one of the terror watch list proposals that was shot down on Monday, and said that the Democratic reprensentatives going against them was proof that there are no civil rights leaders left from the past:
“I’ve said this for a long time and people make fun of us: We’re the civil rights leaders, we’re the civil rights leaders of today. They have discredited themselves and they are dismissed.”
