An off-duty Secret Service agent was arrested today in Washington D.C. and charged with misdemeanor destruction of property, making it the second time in two days that a Secret Service employee has done something questionable and cast shame upon the organization.
A spokesman confirmed to CNN that the officer, who was unnamed, was assigned to the Foreign Missions Branch. The agency quickly placed him on administrative leave.
It was unclear whether the agent was drunk or had anything to do with a fence, but if we were betting folk, we’d say it was one of these things. (We’re going to rule out sexual harassment, since senior supervisor Xavier Morales was forced to resign yesterday over allegations that he’d groped a fellow employee, and lightning doesn’t strike twice at the Secret Service, unless it does.)
