Man Confesses Crime to News Cameraman; Changes Mind, Hijacks His Van

An Australian man tracked down a local news cameraman and confessed, as the camera was rolling, to attacking a woman just hours earlier. But that’s not the strangest part; just a little while later, after the cameraman had already called the police, he changed his mind and hijacked the news van at gunpoint.

7News’ Peter Steer was flagged down by a man on a motorcycle, who cried as he confessed to attacking a woman and possibly killing her. Steer caught his entire confession on camera while he called the police to let them know he’s speaking with the man they’re looking for.

But then, minutes later, the man changed his mind. He jumped into the van, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at Steer. He shouted “don’t be a fucking idiot” several times before driving off.

But even that isn’t the strangest part, because the man ended up crashing the van at a gas station (the video of the crash was caught by a camera in the news van) and police quickly showed up on the scene to arrest him.
