MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Beats Back Lawsuit in Court

schultzBig news concerning a cable news host culminated this week in a federal jury clearing MSNBC’s Ed Schultz in a lawsuit from a man claiming he helped Schultz get his TV career started.

Back in 2011, NBC employee Michael Queen filed a suit against Schultz, saying he helped Schultz get on television, but Schultz breached their partnership agreement, and wanted to be compensated with at least $100,000.

A District Court judge dismissed the suit a year later, but in 2014 a federal appeals court reversed the dismissal.

The Schultz lawsuit drama has been ongoing for weeks––at one point the judge scolded Schultz for his “arrogance”––but on Monday, the jury sided with Schultz.

The jury concluded that no formal partnership existed between Schultz and Queen, and therefore Queen’s claim is invalid.
