San Diego Airport Will Let PETA Display Anti-SeaWorld Poster

One of the biggest tourist attractions in San Diego is SeaWorld, and so it’s a big victory for PETA that the animal rights group gets to display an anti-SeaWorld poster at the San Diego Airport, after filing a lawsuit to get the poster displayed in the first place. SeaWorld has been a big cause for animal rights activists in the past few years, and the popular tourist attraction came under intense criticism after the release of the documentary Blackfish.

PETA and the ACLU teamed up to sue SeaWorld, with the ACLU making the free speech argument to get PETA to put up the poster. And PETA ended up victorious, with the airport agreeing to display the poster.

Here’s the poster in question, featuring actress Kathy Najimy.

A SeaWorld spokesperson said in response, “PETA is an extremist organization and this ad demonstrates that, once again, they are more interested in publicity stunts than helping animals.”
