Towards the end of today’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders absolutely went in on Hillary Clinton over her new book, offering up a series of attacks against the former Democratic presidential nominee from the podium.
Asked if President Donald Trump would be reading What Happened, Clinton’s much-hyped tome on the 2016 election, Sanders said she was ‘not sure” if he’d pick it up before seemingly referencing some pre-written notes about Clinton and her book.
“I would think that he’s pretty well-versed about what happened and I think it’s pretty clear to all of America,” Sanders stated. “I think it’s sad that after Hillary Clinton ran one of the most negative campaigns in history, and lost, and the last chapter of her public life is going to be defined by propping up book sales with false and reckless attacks.”
Clinton’s book has been a major topic of discussion of late, with the ex-Secretary of State embarking on a media tour while numerous pundits and politicians have weighed in with their takes as more and more nuggets have come out from the book.
