Stormy Daniels Reportedly Threatened to Cancel Settlement Deal Weeks Before the Election

A new report tonight provides some insight into the timeline of how Trump lawyer Michael Cohen paid off Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about her alleged affair with President Trump.

Per The Washington Post, Cohen blew the deadline for paying Daniels and her lawyer wasn’t happy:

In an Oct. 17 email, an attorney for Daniels — a porn star whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — threatened to cancel the nondisclosure agreement by the end of the day… A second email to Cohen, a short time after the first, said Daniels was calling the deal off.

“Please be advised that my client deems her settlement agreement canceled and void,” Daniels’s lawyer, Keith Davidson, wrote in the email, which The Washington Post obtained.

Cohen did send the payment ten days later––something he recently confirmed––and the public did not find out until, well, the first reports about the payment broke weeks ago.

After Cohen’s recent comments, Daniels’ manager said in a statement, “Everything is off now, and Stormy is going to tell her story.”
