According to NBC News, the eight-year-old boy killed in Monday’s Boston marathon bomb attacks bomb blasts has been identified as Martin Richard of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Richard was standing in attendance with his family when the explosions went off. His mother, Denise, and his six-year-old sister have reportedly sustained serious injuries from the blasts that have claimed at least three lives and injured more than 140 others.
His father and brother were also in attendance but are reportedly uninjured.
Neighbors describe the boy as “vivacious,” and a lover of playing outside and climbing up neighborhood trees. On the family’s Dorchester home’s stoop, a single candle burned with “Peace” written in chalk on the front sidewalk.
