Trump Reportedly Preparing to Oust Homeland Security Chief Kirstjen Nielsen

President Donald Trump is reportedly getting set to oust Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

According to the Washington Post, Trump has decided to remove Nielsen from her post — and could do so as soon as this week. The reason for the move, according to authors Nick Miroff, Josh Dawsey, and Philip Rucker?

The president has grumbled for months about what he views as Nielsen’s lackluster performance on immigration enforcement and is believed to be looking for a replacement who will implement his policy ideas with more alacrity.

Nielsen is reportedly unhappy in the job, but has been reluctant to leave. According to the Post, Nielsen has frequently been chewed out by Trump in Cabinet meetings. She’s also, according to the piece, been dismissively labeled a “Bushie” by Trump — a reference to her time in former President George W. Bush’s administration, which Trump intends as a slight meant to question her loyalty.
