WATCH: In Clip From Upcoming Fusion Comedy Special, Trump Takes Don Lemon for Ice Cream
Move over, SNL! Fusion is here and ready to play hardball (with soft serve) when it comes to political comedy. Tomorrow night, they will debut Trump vs. Bernie: Shout the Vote, the second installment of their two-part comedy series.
James Adomian plays Bernie Sanders and Anthony Atamanuik plays Donald Trump, naturally, since they have been doing these characters flawlessly all campaign season.
In a preview for Shout the Vote, “Trump” takes “Don Lemon” (played by Troy Walker) to an ice cream parlor because he is annoyed that Sanders has his own flavor.
After explaining to Lemon that he would make “tremendous ice cream” and “the best ice cream, the creamiest ice cream,” Trump orders a cream-flavored scoop, deciding on the spot to name it “Cream, Cream, Cream — but we’ll spell it with a K to make it unique!”
He goes on to order a KKK with “Jimmies” on top. When prompted, he explains that Jimmies are brown sprinkles named for the Jim Crow era of American history, then comments approvingly on the way the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors are “separate but equal” in neapolitan ice cream.
This isn’t the first time Trump has been not-so-subtly accused of racism by a satirical video.
Watch above to see Trump panic that the Mexican hot chocolate flavor is bleeding over into the container of another flavor and frantically demand that the ice cream scooper build a wall of cones. Then, tune in to Fusion‘s cable network or YouTube channel tomorrow at 9 p.m. EST to see the full video.
