Ryan Lochte put it as only Ryan Lochte could:
“I guess you would say I’d be like the Michael Phelps of swimming if he wasn’t there,” the swimmer told NBC.
The 32-year-old Lochte has had a storied career. Hes won six Olympic Gold medals, and 12 medals overall.
But it doesnt quite compare to Michael Phelps, whose 21 career Golds stand alone in the record books by a wide margin.
Tonight, Phelps and Lochte square off for the final time in their storied careers, when they take to the pool for the 200m Individual Medley. The race is scheduled for 10:01 p.m. ET and will be aired live on NBC in the eastern and central time zones. To watch via desktop or laptop, visit nbcolympics.com.
