Sam Bee Teaches ‘F*cking Idiot’ Republicans and Bernie Sanders About Abortion

Samantha Bee devoted an epic nine minutes of her show to educating the “f*cking idiots” behind recent anti-abortion legislation about the mysterious workings of the human body, as well as a lesson for Independent Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

On this week’s edition of TBS’ Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, Bee tackled the subject of the recent raft of strict anti-abortion laws by injecting something that’s been missing from much of the cable news coverage of these laws: basic medical facts.

“Welcome to class, you fuckin’ idiots,” Bee began, and dove right into debunking a claim from Eric Johnston, who helped draft the Alabama abortion ban, that ““a man and woman can have sex and you can take her straight into a clinic and determine an egg and sperm came together.”

“That isn’t how it works,” Bee said, explaining that “The most sensitive pregnancy test can’t detect anything until eight or more days after fertilization. So if you’re going to be a psycho about it, wait 10 days and then buy her a bouquet of pee sticks like a gentleman.”

The Alabama law bans abortion at every stage of pregnancy, but Bee went on to explain that bans after the sixth week of pregnancy, like Georgia’s, are just as bad because “It’s still hard to know if you’re pregnant at six weeks. You might have no symptoms, or symptoms like fatigue, bloating and gas. On the other hand, it explains P.F. Chang’s new motto, maybe it’s not us, maybe you’re pregnant.”

Bee also debunked Ohio State Rep. John Becker’s claim, enshrined in an Ohio anti-abortion bill, that ectopic pregnancies can be reimplanted in the uterus, a procedure that does not exist. “Becker’s ignorance is going to kill people,” Bee said. “Ectopic pregnancies are almost never viable, they’re very dangerous and they can’t be treated via close-up magic.”

But Bee also took on Bernie Sanders’ idiotic response to an equally idiotic question at a Fox News town hall event. When asked “Do you believe a woman should be able to terminate a pregnancy up until the moment of birth?” Sanders replied “Look, I think that happens very, very rarely and I think this is being made into a political issue. So I think it’s rare.”

“It isn’t rare. It is nonexistent. You can’t have an abortion at the moment of birth,” Bee said, adding “Uncle moth balls isn’t the only one getting it wrong. Beto O’rourke also whiffed.”

So have CNN’s Brian Stelter and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, to name just two others.

Bee went on to tackle Trump’s dangerous lie about doctors and parents conspiring to “execute a baby,” and concluded the segment by debunking false claims that contraceptives cause abortions.

Samantha Bee is not a medical expert, yet in just a few minutes, managed to dispense more medical facts about reproductive health than every other cable news segment put together. Maybe those networks should book others who know facts like these.
