Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer Teases ‘Picture’ of Trump Affair in Fierce Clash With Attorney: ‘Buckle Up!’
Michael Avenatti and Arthur Schwartz — lawyers of former porn star Stormy Daniels and Trump attorney Michael Cohen, respectively — appeared on CNN Monday night for a contentious slugfest that stretched over multiple segments, and got pretty ugly.
The two attorneys battled it out over Daniels’ lawsuit against Cohen and the president, in which she claims an NDA she signed before the 2016 election to keep quiet about an alleged affair with Trump is void.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper did his best to keep the two lawyers in the ring, and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin — a well placed but ultimately futile buffer — pretty much just sat there helplessly.
Towards the end of one segment, Avenatti made a coy reference to evidence he claims to have about the affair between Stormy and Trump, which allegedly went down in 2006.
That happened as the two lawyers sparred over the reliability of a lie detector test Daniels took, which Schwartz called “fabricated.”
“He paid $25,000 [for the test],” Schwartz said, “I know, I looked at a picture.”
“Thank you for supplying that picture,” Schwartz said to Avenatti.
“That’s not the last one, that’s not the last picture!” Avenatti fired back. “Buck up! Buckle up!”
“You’ll need a big one, but buckle up!” he added, before taunting Schwartz to “get off the sidelines and get in the case.”
Avenatti recently sparked hysterical speculation that there might be photo or video evidence of the alleged affair between his client and Trump, after he tweeted a photo of a CD in a safe, along with the caption, “If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ how many words is this worth?????” On Monday, he declared on the morning shows that he has more evidence about the dalliance.
