Glenn Beck Reveals Past Career As Fashion Reporter In Testimonial For The Onion

video

For the past few weeks, The Onion has been celebrating its thousandth issue with AFAJP, a fake organization designed to protest the satirical paper never having gotten a Pulitzer. The campaign has mostly been made up of various famous people recording video messages to declare their displeasure with the Pulitzer Board (and love of The Onion). They’ve all been pretty fun but the most recent one? It’s absolutely incredible and stars none other than Glenn Beck!

I don’t want to ruin the joke but it’s clear that most Onion readers are going to be surprised to discover Beck has a wicked sense of humor in addition to being that guy who cries all the time. We here at Mediaite were already well aware of his jokester side, but it’s amazing that he’s good natured enough to forgive this famously dark sketch.

Enjoy!

    Fact: Classy guy is multi-talented!

Well, if the Nobel Piss Prize can be awarded to Obomber, the Pull It Sir can be awarded to the Onion. Sometimes truth is stranger than satire.

Glenn you are a Moron. Bye, bye, goodbye, you are welcome to oblivion. No more fake tears, no more wannabe televangelist on cable news, a whack job who clearly has mental health issue. Roger Ailes recognized his irresponsible decision and got rid of the crazy wretch.

That’s true… KO isn’t known for crying. Shouting, lying, whining, and spitting all over his desk… yes. But not crying.

Oh, and being a whack job, of course.

House Republicans are gearing up to vote, likely Friday, on whether to authorize continued United States support for NATO-led military operations over Libya. There are two main proposals — and a clear choice to be made. We fear they are leaning in a wrongheaded and dangerous direction.

They claimed it would do minimal damage to the alliance and its campaign because the United States would still be providing some support. But the damage to this country’s credibility, and its leadership of NATO, would be enormous. Any sign that the United States is bailing out could lead others to follow.

You are just PISSED that people like me that pulled out our retirements in 2007, thanks to people like Beck, have made MILLIONS on investing in gold.

By the way, if you would have listened to him, your investment would have quadrupled in value instead of dropping approximately 25% to this point using the Dow as the measurement.

Oh well, maybe you should just listen to Krugman, he more accurately walks in line with your mindset. I am sure he was saying to invest in gold back then and was saying the economy was going to implode.

Again, I’m ashamed that Beck had gold sponsors, and talked about gold as something you could buy as an investment in this economy. What a horror! He talked about economics, and happened to have an ad for something in that area.

I also feel terrible when other hosts talk about economics, but have ads for banks, financial investing firms, cars, and goods and services. Heck, now that I think about it… folks on FOX often wear clothes, but also have ads for clothing companies. How did I not realize that horror before?!

Well, how is it different? Tax money going to a private firm, and then those firms (or their competition) getting commercial air time? What about when they discussed the actual cars themselves, and why it was that some were popular, and some weren’t?

I have no issue with Free speech. But an alarmist is definite not under that cover, why don’t you call 911 often and tell them about your violent fantasies, see how they’d deal with your freedom to madness.

How did you come to the conclusion that “alarmism” isn’t covered by free speech? And who determines what is “alarmism?” Is it when Beck says that we need to be prepared for future terrorist events? They are just following the Progressive meme…Attack everything Beck. They don’t care about context, or content, It is likely the follower never even hears the message, not really. It is Emotion, they respond…and its always about personal destruction.

The Progressive goal is to slander, vilify and malign the target for any reason they can make up or think of; if no actual slight was made or intended, they will create one. They are not interested in agreement unless you agree with them, otherwise, they are looking for a fight.

The goal of the Progressive is to de-humanize and culturally isolate their perceived enemy; It is a tactic to avoid discussion or engagement. Like Pavlov’s dog’s, the leadership will create a trained negative reaction to the individual or organization, and by doing so they discredit the message without ever having to rationally or reasonably address that message…The dogs just follow and bite on command.

‘Power thru Misdirection’ is the real goal in all their attacks…to avoid the issue, to control the message. To discredit any contending view point without ever having to explain why. The Progressives are totalitarian by nature and inclination, and they cannot deal with any dissent. Progressives tolerate no message but their own.

HHHhhhhmmm….. They left off the part that reveals Glenn Beck’s only real true career qualificatons for anything in this life. Bus Driver and / or Pimp. That is about all people like Beck are qualified to do and they do it so very well.

Skyfet has to be a conservative who’s using a handle on an anonymous website to poke (justifiable) fun of the stupidity of progressives. Nobody can be this stupid.

King is a Grandfather who attends meetings and flies out at a moments notice when Obama’s having a tough day at the office. How cute.

Why so surprised! Oops, he’s not who we thought he was, cause we (liberals) like to put people into our limited view boxes! It hurts to think, you know, the truth!

The leftist let’s his TRUE beliefs be known. Anyone that does not believe what they believe, SHUT THEM UP!!!!!

  • SuburbanPatriot

Glenn Beck is a champion of the airwaves weather they are the tv or the radio or the internet because he is a talented broadcaster and patriot who knows exactly what the people want to hear because he is the best. The only thing I am confused about is that he spoke up for the Onion which is a knwon leftist “humor” website that regularly mocks both Beck and other Conservative Politicians who have to deal with enough slander from the likes of John Stuart and the rest of the lamestream media but in the end I think that anytime Beck is on the air it is a victory for those of us who truly care about our Country. Thank you.

It’s hard not to love Glenn Beck.

  • Giant Forehead

Does nobody find it slightly disconcerting that Beck has an apparent keen sense of satire and that he might actually be some ungodly theatricle ideologue for hire? No sane person could sincerely believe what Beck says and simultaneously find the Onion funny, right? You can’t believe in total left-wing conspiracy and then appear as a sponsor for the most prominent and openly progressive satire magazine on the internet. It’s either all guilt-by-association or none of it is, right?

It’s called being impressionable, and most everyone on television has it.

I have absolutely no idea what that means. Impressionable is not a good thing. And the rest of it makes no sense regardless.

I’m simply commenting on your incredibly odd way of perceiving the world.

Beck comes off well on TV, as does most everybody that, you know, has a job being on TV, but in your head, this is somehow an ominously bad thing, ungodly even, since Glenn Beck is involved. Odd indeed. Or indicative of a personality so hopelessly propagandized that you might see Beck in a red tie and start unconsciously buy only blue ties from then on in.

I didn’t cover the rest of your Beck characterizations since it makes, as you might say, no sense. Or perfect sense, given my last point.

Who thinks most people who have a job of being on TV ‘come off well’ on TV? Nobody thinks that. That is a very weird statement to base an argument on if you don’t mind me saying so.

I should thing it’s a tautology. If a person doesn’t come off well on television, they’re not likely to sustain their job on television. This doesn’t apply merely to actors. Anyone in the news and commentary business has to have an air of showmanship and believability, else people won’t tune in.

Are we talking past each other?

And people who don’t read The Onion have absolutely no sense of humor.

That only proves that Glenn Beck is big and smart and secure and confident enough to mock and laught at himself.

No such liberal/progressive ever did or will exist.

Glenn Beck is one complicated dude. I have no clue who the real Glenn Beck is. I will say this, if Glenn ever hits the bottle again I suspect we will be seeing Beck in many unlikely places.

Glenn used to like nose candy as well. Lots of it. I suspect Glenn struggles with sobriety daily.

Just an observation. That is all.
