Earlier today, James O’Keefe released a statement in which he expanded upon his initial denial that he planned to sexually humiliate CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau, a denial that is belied by additional evidence presented in Boudeau’s “Right on the Edge” documentary. In addition to the “CNN Caper” document that outlined the plan, Boudreau also released emails and telephone recordings that corroborated key elements of the plot.

We reached out to Boudreau to see if she had a reaction to O’Keefe’s statement. Her response was brief and to the point:

Former CNN anchor Rick Sanchez has been resoundingly mum since Friday morning’s diatribe against Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Jewish people (not that he hadn’t said enough already). Reports are surfacing, however, that he has done his part in private and apologized to Stewart, who took it in stride and called him “thin-skinned.”

Pete Dominick was the host of the Sirius XM radio show that featured Rick Sanchez‘ now-infamous rant – and he’s also now the Saturday afternoon CNN host of What The News.

Today Dominick talked about the circumstances surrounding Sanchez’ appearance that eventually led to his firing.

Since the story of conservative ACORN slayer James O’Keefe‘s attempt to sexually humiliate CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau broke on Wednesday, ever-more disturbing details have emerged. Saturday night’s airing of Right on the Edge, the Boudreau documentary about which she and O’keefe were supposed to meet, fills in a few more blanks, and reveals just how monumental a screwup this was for O’Keefe.

Rick Sanchez may be out of a job, but he’s still playing a starring role as the butt of the joke. Gossip Cop reports that at a New York fundraiser last night Jon Stewart, whom Sanchez infamously called a “bigot” last week, took a swipe at the now-fired CNN anchor.

Saturday Night Live was surprisingly easy on the newly unemployed Rick Sanchez on its “Weekend Update” segment tonight. The show, which has famously mocked Good Morning America for being inane and New York Governor David Patterson for being blind, was merciful to Sanchez—despite his anti-semitic comments.

In case you haven’t heard, newly-unemployed Rick Sanchez really does not like The Daily Show. Jon Stewart‘s insults hurt his feelings, and, according to Sanchez, are also racist. Judging from the ratings, there’s good reason to believe many have missed these grave insults hoisted at Sanchez, but luckily the Daily Show tech crew have put together the best of their Rick Sanchez moments in one place.

For most media consumers, yesterday’s Rick Sanchez Spectacular was a bewilderingly stupid (but fun!) way for the perceived-to-be dumbest news anchor on television to make his exit. For Cuban-Americans, the group Sanchez seemed to have been trying to defend (?) in his ill-advised rant, it was a disgrace from which it will be difficult to recover.

It was a week straight out of a media critic’s dreams, or a surrealist filmmaker’s screenplay: Rahm Emanuel‘s tenancy issues, James O’Keefe‘s “palace of pleasure,” and Rick Sanchez‘s spontaneous combustion. With so much of import going on in the world, makes sense that the media mostly missed the fact that the Ecuadorian police force tear-gassed President Rafael Correa and quarantined him in a hospital as his shouted “kill me! kill me!”

Conservative reaction to James O’Keefe‘s alleged plot to sexually humiliate CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau has been almost uniformly harsh. Until now, aside from a few tangential tweets, O’Keefe mentor and benefactor Andrew Breitbart has been silent on the matter. Those waiting to take their cues from the influential conservative media figure can now let the pigeons loose, as Breitbart has released a statement in which he praises Boudreau, and calls O’Keefe’s plot “patently gross and offensive.”

So if you haven’t heard (and we really, really doubt you haven’t at this point), Rick Sanchez was fired from CNN today. The cause: this radio rant where he went off on Jon Stewart and made what could be (and indeed were) construed as untoward remarks about Jews. Several pundits spoke up on the matter later this evening, and let’s just say there’s not much mourning out there for Sanchez.

CNN released this statement today:

“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“

They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.

CNN’s Rick Sanchez is not happy with being made fun of constantly on The Daily Show and Colbert Report. It is from this jumping off point that he absolutely unleashed on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and at times his own network, on Pete Dominick‘s satellite radio show yesterday.

The big takeaway – Sanchez calls Stewart “a bigot,” then walks it back a bit, and he implies CNN is run by Jews.

On the heels of John King‘s MSNBC/FNC related segment last night, his colleague Rick Sanchez threw MSNBC on “The List U Don’t Want 2 Be On” today.

After reading Bill Burton‘s quote about MSNBC, Sanchez launched into his monologue about how he’s happy he’s not a White House friend or foe.

Tyler Clementi, was a shy freshmen at Rutgers University and an expert violinist. His roommate, Dharun Ravi, apparently uncomfortable with having a gay roommate, decided it would be hilarious to secretly videotape Clementi having sex and then stream it live on the internet, inviting all of his friends to watch through Twitter. Three days later, Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge. Meanwhile, on CNN, Rick Sanchez couldn’t be persuaded that this disgusting affair reeeeeally qualified as “bullying.”

CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau was interviewed by Rick Sanchez this afternoon regarding the now-dominant story of ACORN pimp James O’Keefe‘s attempt to lure her onto a boat “filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session,” a “prank” that even conservative media figure Brent Bozell called an “attempted assault.”

Rick Sanchez has been on the air promoting Conventional Idiocy a lot recently – 36 times in the last three weeks.

So how did the book sell? According to numbers Mediaite obtained from Bookscan, Sanchez’ book sold 802 copies in its first week.

Sure enough, we got what Sanchez later called a “spirited conversation” as Velshi and Heye argued over what’s really hurting our nation’s workers.

A small plane crash in California has claimed the lives of at least one woman on board.

Rick Sanchez talked to the public communications manager for Redwood City who gave more details, including reports that one woman has died and two are unaccounted for.
