Did you see Sheriff Arpaio announced today that he has “evidence” that Obama’s birth certificate is fake? Everything he outlined could already be found on some dude’s youtube account many months ago, and the entire argument was refuted long ago by the National Review no less. Arpaio counts among his “posse” of investigators the guy from World Net Daily who wrote a book about birtherism that he clearly wants to $ell.

You made me curious so I looked up that National Review confirmation of the PDF and its info is out of date, the reasons they use to refute the forgery claim were debunked today. Unless there is another report, I also noticed the date of that “confirmation” was just after the PDF had been released. Researchers have now had months to perform a thorough review so I’m eager to hear today’s claims debunked by a legitimate authority, for technical forensics curiosity if nothing else.

Breitbart announced he had some tapes of Obama about one week after he had dinner with Bill Ayers and his wife.  During the dinner, Ayers said he was considering voting for Ron Paul.

Could Ayers be the source of the tapes? The timing is suspicious.

Its from April of last year, just after the pdf was finally released by the White House.  I wasn’t willing to give the website my email address so I haven’t read the report, but I watched the videos they posted showing the different tests they conducted, both with a control subject and the pdf downloaded directly from whitehouse.gov.  Since they fully explained the test methods used, and showed the results, if they did something incorrect or unfair it should be a simple matter for a legitimate authority to correct them.

Politics aside, and I think 95% of us would agree its intended to be a stunt, if the certificate and/or selective service  form really are forgeries then crimes have been committed.  If that is the case, the Sheriff is correct in limiting his criticism to the documents.  There’s a number of reasons the documents could be forgeries but the truth of the information they relate more or less accurate.  A decent forgery of a Rembrandt would still be a decent painting, if you like  Rembrandt.   I think it’d be a mistake to tie this issue in any way to the President other than he could choose to allow the records of his past to be released.  Otherwise, if the docs are forged then it  should be known who forged them, and why.  

If no one can refute today’s evidence in a timely and legitimate manner (in other words Media Matters, MSDNC, Think Progress, or pretty much any media or liberal institution would not be considered legitimate) then, while unlikely, it could effect Obama’s legal status for getting on the ballot in all 50 (or 57 by his count) states.   I think it’d be a mistake for the Republican candidate to campaign on the question since the media would laugh at them, but its still possible some lawyers somewhere would petition to have Obama disqualified from the ballot based on proven forged documents required for his eligibility.  

If the Clintons could find nothing no one can.  That’s why the right wingers hate Obama so much, because they’ve got nothing on him.

Forensic analysis of a DIGITAL version of a PAPER document is ridiculous. It has indeed been debunked. I even performed a test on my blog months ago, and got into a fruitless argument there about pixels and ZOOOOMING in. It’s pointless. If the White House wanted to make a fake birth certificate, it would be the PAPER version–not the DIGITAL one–that would have been conterfeit, and the forgery would be indetectable.

It’s amazing to me how low the “birther” deductive reasoning skill set is. I did an “aha!” when I saw the layers. Then I investigated, experimented, and saw there was nothing, nothing, nothing to it. But I predict the birther conspiracy theory is going to be replaced by the “Breitbart killed over what he knew” conspiracy theory.

The main reason why Obama apeals to more people than right wing nuts wish is because he is the exact opposite of someone like Brietbart. He doesn’t throw bombs and he doesn’t bloviate. My prediction is that the tapes will be as exciting as the Michelle Obama “whitey” tapes that never materialized.

If they were so damning to Obama then they would be released in October as the “October surprise”.  Because they will be actually nothing in them worth anything but publicity for Breitbart, they will be released in the next couple of weeks.

Releasing in March will have ZERO impact on an election that will happen in November.

Besides I am skeptical of any tapes out there for Obama went to college and grad school in the 80′s  where there wasn’t major taping of anything for people didn’t really have cell phones.

Contrary to popular belief, Breitbart NEVER edited the Shirley Sherrod video. He simply posted a clip of it on his website. It was CNN -not Breitbart- that took the story out of context and ran with it. It was the NAACP- not Breitbart- that fired Shirley Sherrod. In fact, Breitbart never criticized Sherrod at all! 

In regards to the ACORN tapes – I mean really, how can you argue with what you see on these tapes? It was an undercover sting operation that CLEARLY shows ACORN personnel aiding and abetting criminal behavior. And these videos were taken at several different ACORN offices in several different states. They were caught red-handed. How can you argue with what your own eyes tell you? 

Breitbart is hated by the Left not because he was a hack – but because he was so effective. If Breitbart was a liberal who exposed conservatives in a similar manner, believe me, everyone on the Left would have LOVED him. RIP Andrew Breitbart, a true iconoclast….

Actually, I did post it previously, along with the advice that the job of Harvard Law Review president entailed being in charge of an organization that reviewed literally thousands of submissions for publication over several hundreds of pages of that year’s Review over a period of 8 months from the end of November into June of the next year – which sounds like a full-time job, except that the chief editor would also have to be completing his last year of studies in Law while attending to those Review duties.

If you spent just a few minutes on Google, you would see that Ms. Sherrod actually SUED Breitbart for defamation, & that her lawsuit claim specifically identifies the things Breitbart & his organization under his control did to alter the actual clip from her talk. Then you would find that Breitbart’s legal team took out a motion for ‘summary judgment’ & dismissal of the Sherrod claim, NOT on the basis that anything in her claim was wrong or over-stated what Breitbart had done with the clip, but on the basis that she had somehow become a ‘public figure’ & therefore subject to “political speech” that included the right to “interpret” what she actually said into what the opinion holder, which Breitbart admitted he was, claimed she actually “meant”. And then you would find that Breitbart’s motion to dismiss was itself dismissed, meaning that the court’s order was to proceed to pre-trial discovery & interlocutory oral examinations for use at the trial.  

I think a lot better argument could be made that Breitbart’s heart gave out from the stress of supporting all the lies he had spinning up in the air like so many juggler’s plates. Breitbart was headed down on Sherrod lawsuit, because it was an open & shut case of defamation – & now it’s left up to Ms. Sherrod whether to continue her winning lawsuit against his estate.

Plus, you have an awfully cack-eyed version of what happened in the ACORN “sting” operation. The whole thing was subjected to a series of comprehensive investigations, by the police & by Congress, & ALL of those showed that the ACORN staff did nothing in the least wrong in dealing with that idiot O’Keefe & that the versions publicized on Big Journalism were altered to make up lies; hell, even Breitbart admitted they were edited to the point of leaving a false impression – his ‘defense’ was that he got them that way from O’Keefe.  

Moreover, the actual ACORN scandals had nothing to do with any of that. The main story was internal embezzlement of funding by one of the family members of the founder of ACORN, plus a number of lesser stories mostly having to do with several workers in the Denver office having handed in sheets with bogus registrant names on them in order to get paid by the name – none of which enabled anyone to vote illegally or at all, because those registrants never existed in the first place.  National ACORN management then paid for all those amounts, the amount that was embezzled & the amount that was paid for by federal government funding, so that in the end the only people who got hurt were the ACORN office workers who never did anything wrong but lost their jobs anyway. 

Actually, there was another group who got hurt: the people ACORN was established to serve in the first place – poor people in search of low income housing. The registration of voters for 2008 was simply a fund-raising scheme for ACORN & job scheme for some additional temporary ACORN workers, but in the end all that election registration function was taken over by other groups – which is why the rate of growth in Democratic party registrants continues to beat that of Republican party registrants. BOTH parties have seen a drop in registration compared to 2008, but registration number for Independents has risen – which says a lot on why the two major parties are behaving as they are, in pursuit of the votes of those Independents – the overwhelming majority of whom are Occupy supporters.

Arpaio gave the game away in his statement: He said that his “office believes there is probable cause” – not that it HAS probable cause, just that it “believes” that probable cause exists, out there, somewhere. Big important difference, because if Arpaio said his ‘office has probable cause’ & did not, hoo-eee – his ass would be behind bars in a blink of the eye.

I suspect you are mistaken about the extent of Breitbart’s liability. If I post a video on my website of a public figure saying something at a public meeting – and that person gets fired for their comments – they cannot hold me responsible for the firing. 

Furthermore – what are the damages? Within 2 days, the USDA immediately offered to rehire her and promote her into a cushy, well paid job – which she refused! 

Clearly, she smelled the gravy train and decided that she would rather coast on lawsuit money & book deals than work for a living.

if these tapes were really a big deal, how could they not have come out in 2008?   its kind of like the palin-trig-truther thing, obama’s people investigated that and decided it was bullshit.  and mccain/palin and hilary were all over the obama’s birth-certificate stuff before it got big, and both determined it was crap.

I read that the tapes show Obama with Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dorn which would be a problem for Obama since he said Ayers was just a guy in the neighborhood. But we already know Obama lied about that considering they were on the ANnenburg project board together and Ayers started Obama’s political career in his living room. But the liberal main stream media will ignore the tapes just like all of Obamas radical connections in the past (communist mentor Marshall in Hawaii, Ayers, Wright, Rezko etc). Just like they show no curiosity about Sheriff Joe’s findings about Obama’s birth certificate or his SS card.

I’m really not surprised that our utterly corrupt Attorney General found ACORN not guilty. There’s a lot of graft and inside politics involved in this case. The notorious ACORN videos are subject to a lot of misunderstanding. The fact is, BOTH sides are partially correct. Please keep reading: The controversy about “editing” the Acorn videos stems mainly from the fact that O’Keefe inserted some images of him walking around in a “pimp” costume into the videotape. This led people to believe that he walked into the Acorn offices dressed like a pimp – which he did not. But pimp costume or not,  the videos clearly show a willingness of ACORN employees to “look the other way” when it comes to criminal behavior and tax evasion. Here are the facts:O’Keefe and his female partner entered into 6 different ACORN offices (Baltimore, Washington DC, Brooklyn, San Bernadino, Los Angeles and San Diego) to ask for financial and housing advice. Their storyline changes with each office, but here’s the important point – when they told ACORN staff members that they were engaged in prostitution (with underage prostitutes from El Salvador) ACORN staff members in at least 3 out of 6 offices, gave them advice on how to evade taxes by creating a “legitimate business” which they can launder the prostitution money through. Here are some actual quotes from the ACORN staff giving advice regarding the 14 year old prostitutes: Baltimore ACORN staff member: ”Be careful. Train them to keep their mouth shut. If the police put pressure on you, I can’t cover you”Washington DC ACORN staff member: “No you can’t make it up (tax return) you can have a business. She’s not going to put down that she’s doing prostitution” and “when the police ask you – you don’t know where it’s coming from.” ACORN staff members also gave advice on what tax codes to use to conceal their prostitution as a legitimate business such as “preforming arts” or “massage parlor” and they suggested that any underage prostitutes should be declared as dependents to receive a “child tax credit.” In my opinion, ANY person of conscience should be outraged at this betrayal of the public trust. NOW HERE’S THE OTHER SIDE: There were ALSO incidences in which O’Keefe selectively edited certain videos to give a false impression of wrongdoing. This is definitely the case in the San Diego office where one of the staff members Juan Carlos Vera did the right thing and called the police on the couple to report their activities. In other words: James O’Keefe blew it. He actually captured some REAL damming evidence in Baltimore, Washington DC and Brooklyn where ACORN representatives turned a blind eye to underage prostitution and encouraged income tax evasion. He should have stopped there. Instead he, got greedy and used selective editing to misrepresent the events at San Bernadino, Los Angeles and San Diego. Once this was uncovered, the whole case began to unravel – despite the fact that very real offenses had occurred in the other offices (which staff members were fired for.) There is a video on YouTube in which Rachael Maddow “exposes” the “fraud” of the edited videos. But the keen observer will notice that she ONLY focuses on the pimp costume (which O’Keefe wasn’t wearing) and the California cases – she does not touch the Baltimore, DC and Brooklyn offices where real offenses took place. Ahh, the selective vision of partisan politics. THE BIG PICTURE: Although O’Keefe misrepresented SOME footage (which is inexcusable) his efforts actually did uncover legitimate corruption and malfeasance at ACORN (which is commendable.) ACORN was an organization that received over 50 Million dollars of tax payer money over the last 15 years. Like any organization that receives taxpayer money, they should be held to the highest standard of ethnics. As Hout Bosques points out himself, ACORN was largely an embezzling  scam that padding the pockets of a politically connected few at the expense of the downtrodden many, the very inner-city poor that the organization was hired to help – with taxpayer dollars. ACORN has died a well deserved death. And to the extent that James O Keefe and Andrew Breitbart (despite their failings) contributed to that death, I applaud them for it. 

 Only because Obama couldn’t exert ‘Executive Order #1′ that then sealed every known scrap about his past under a FELONY ARREST, until his FIRST day in the office.

On ACORN – the editing makes several comments out of context.  It also is worth noting that at least one of the major featured employees contacted law enforcement about their “child trafficking” IMMEDIATELY after the couple left, she kept them talking to collect information.

Here’s an overview- It was a Republican who freed the slaves (Lincoln).  It was a Progressive Dem who segregated the govt (Wilson) and a Repub who desegregated it. 

Up until 1964, there were 26 major civil rights votes.  The majority of Dems opposed them 80% of the time.  Repubs were in favor 96% of the time.

It was a Repub (Eisenhour) who pushed for the 1957 and 1960 Civil Rights Acts to establish the the Civil Rights Dept at DOJ and the Civil Rights Commission.

Although Kennedy, a Dem gets credit for the content of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, it was the Repubs who got it passed in the Dem Congress despite fierce Dem opposition, mostly Dem southern racists.  In the House, 80% of Repubs (138 to 34) and only 61 % of Dems (152 to 96) favored it  In the Senate, the Southern Bloc (18 Dems & 1 Repub) filibustered; it was finally passed 73 to 27 with 6 Repubs and 21 Dems opposed.
