Mediaite has learned Brit Hume will address his comment about Tiger Woods made on FOX News Sunday tonight as it continues to gain traction online and on TV.

Hume will further discuss his comments about Woods on The O’Reilly Factor at 8pmET.

Hume will talk about several stories in the news right now – including his Woods comment. This was the main part of Hume’s comment that got so much attention:

He’s said to be a Buddhist, I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith, so my message to Tiger would be “Tiger, turn to the Christian faith, and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.”

It has drawn big reaction on Twitter – from Ana Marie Cox and her nearly 1.5 million followers to actress Elizabeth Banks. MSNBC covered the story today as well on air.

Addressing the story on Fox News’ top-rated show gives Hume the chance to clarify, or at the very least expand on, his original comments, to an audience that will give it its widest circulation. Will Bill O’Reilly press him at all? You’ll have to tune in to find out (or read Mediaite)…
