Desiree Rogers On White House Party-Crashers: The Salahis Thought State Dinner Was ‘A Joke’

In an interview set to air tonight on ABC’s Nightline, the former social secretary of the Obama White House, Desiree Rogers, talks about the reality TV couple that crashed a state dinner in 2009, Tareq and Michelle Salahi, ever to be known as the “White House Party Crashers.” The two, socialites from Virginia, managed to get into a state dinner for the prime minister of India. “It’s unfortunate that, you know, this happened and…it’s over,” she said. “It’s the past, it’s behind us and that’s the end of it.”

The Salahis’ security breach launched an investigation and ultimately played a role in her dismissal from the White House in February 2010. “I think a less mature person might be resentful,” she told ABC. “My job is to make certain that I’ve done what I was asked and my department has done what we were asked to do by the president and the first lady and the State Department. I believe that we accomplished that.”

As for the Salahis, who went on to feature in The Real Housewives of DC, Rogers said “I think I feel the worst for, really, the gents that, you know, have to work there every day doing their jobs. To have these two think this is a game, and it’s really not.”

What the hell did the dumb dumb Obama’s expect hiring a Heidi Fliess like character out of Chicago to run such an itegral, critically security sensitive position in the White House.

It happened, it’s over, move on.

Only in a democrat presidency and administration would the press be so willing to ignore what happened.

SOP for the lamestraemers in the so-called news media. Hehimself and his ones tell the media to STFU and the media says :”ok boss”.

    Unbelievable.

Not everything is known about the night the Gate Crashers entered the White House and Ms. Salahi walked right up to the President. They claimed to have been there legitimately but they were not in possession of invitations. Their defense initially was that they were under the impression that they were in fact invited. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. They were brought to a Congressional investigation where they exclusively stood on their fifth amendment rights which can be done. What happened after that? There was talk of a Grand Jury but that never happened. Actually the Gatecrashers never went through their due process. For an unauthorized entry to the White House, confronting the President and contacting the Defense Department as civilians, how can this be explained.

A ‘More Mature’ person wouldn’t star in ‘Real Housewives.’
