Fox Business’ “Freedom Watch” Takes On The Sex Trade With Porn Star And Prostitute
Judge Andrew Napolitano‘s show Freedom Watch is all about defending the rights of Americans to exercise their freedoms as they see fit. It’s also about putting together some of the most original panel discussions in cable news. Today’s panel epitomized both, bringing Napolitano together with two sex workers– a porn star and a prostitute– to discuss how government oppression of the sex industry was hurting America.
Vivid entertainment star Savannah Samson agreed with Napolitano’s aversion to government intervention in “victimless crimes,” and argued that “the government could do so much better than try to stop things that people want to see, people want to do.” She did, however, support government health regulations like “mandatory condoms and things like that,” which she thought were necessary for a safe industry. Meanwhile, sex worker Tracy Quan discussed problems unique to the prostitution industry, like police raids “behind closed doors.” “We have people coming in and pretending to be clients,” she explained, meaning undercover police officers, who she accused of “looking for free sex.” Judge Napolitano disagreed with her that all undercover policemen want “free sex,” and she modified her statement, but continued to argue that much of the persecution of prostitutes involves soliciting their business without having the need to hold up their end of the bargain.
