Jimmy Kimmel Persuaded Parents To Prank Their Kids With Bad Christmas Gifts In The Cruelest, Funniest Joke Ever

video

Some stuff will never not be funny. Children saying goofy things (the darnedest things, if you will) definitely falls into that category. As does the absolute glee that some overworked parents take in occasionally messing with their children so as to coax out those darned things. ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel tapped into that rich, rich well brilliantly last Halloween when he persuaded his viewers to pretend they ate all their kids’ candy and then video tape the reaction. Well, we’re reaching some new child-favorite holidays and, while the Halloween bit was funny, Kimmel has perfected it this time. For the new yuletide version, Kimmel got the parents to wrap up some of the least fun items they could think of and give them to their kids under the guise of a “special early present.” As you can imagine, the results are painfully funny.

I could go into more thought about this whole thing. You know, analyze the more interesting reactions (why do you think the kids given gifts designed for the wrong gender seem to be the most hurt?) or something. But, really, there’s no point. This is just funny. Mean maybe. But really, really funny.

Jimmy Kimmel Persuaded Parents To Prank Their Kids With Bad Christmas Gifts In The Cruelest, Funniest Joke Ever

…yep, and lunatic-left d-cRAT socialists ALSO like to drown kittens, microwave hamsters, pull the wings off flying insects and kick elderly people.  To them, these are all “Funny Jokes”.

  • Anonymous

What a bunch of spoiled little brats!

  • Anonymous

For those of you who think this is hysterically funny, I am sorry for you. I’m sure you are the same people who like to tie tin cans to a cat’s tail or pull the wings off of butterflies.

What wonderful parents to actively seek to humiliate and disappoint their children!

Kimmel is a sadist to have suggested that parents participate in his “prank” on their own children, and the parents are both sadistic and immature to have done as he said.

OK, the last family name their daughter “Tri-nessa?”  Presumably there were two other attempts at a “Nessa” before her, regardless, I hope the cook book was low fat recipes.

It is funny how people like u can manage to turn something apolitical in to a political one. It was funny as hell. Get over it.

  • Anonymous

Son, I couldn’t thing of more appropriate words to describe you , lbs, and the Democratic party.

  • Anonymous

This was funny like 3 or 4 years ago. It’s just stupid now.

  • G T

I love how everyone is pointing the finger at Jimmy for this. He didn’t hold a gun to the parents heads and force them to play a prank on these bratty kids. This goes to show how we as a society have commercialized Christmas so much that the only thing the children focus on is the presents that they GET. If I had kids, they’d be volunteering in a nursing home on Christmas day and visiting the people who have no family. Not whining over what they didn’t get for Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season, not presents.

  • News Of The World

Hang on old man – just a few minutes longer.  The paramedics are on their way.  Another cranky, old, white teabagger about to be rescued.

  • Anonymous

I think of it as just teaching the kids some humility. They don’t deserve anything; they’re not entitled to any gifts. They should be grateful for what they get, despite whether it was what they wanted or not. Their disgusting reactions in some of the videos only validate my point.

  • Just some Blow Hard…

The only political slant that can be put on this is that the kids remind me of republican voters seeing the candidates.

  • Anonymous

    Do you have children?

  • Anonymous

Get back to  me when you have children. You don’t know what you’re talking about. The birth of Christ IS the reason for the season, but giving gifts to your beloved children is not mutually exclusive with celebrating the birth of Jesus.

The parents who did this to their children were NOT teaching humility- they were teaching HUMILIATION and are sadistic a$$es.

  • Hout Bosques

Well in fairness, the “tell [Jimmy Kimmel] to suck my balls” was a pretty fun line.

Hey, in a few years these youngsters will be running this joint, and given the way the Republicans have screwed us up, it’s good that they’re getting practice in managing disappointment. Who knows – a few more years of Republican nullification and that half-eaten peanut-butter-&-jelly sandwich is going to look REAL good; and if Newt or Mitt get elected, the little girl could put that sandwich on Ebay & make a tidy profit.

  • Hout Bosques

I kin tale u aina parent.

  • Hout Bosques

Ah du – but theyz all growed up now. Wisht Idda dun somma this stuff on em way back when – then they wouldna always be phonin’ and emailin’ for money.

  • Anonymous

Republicans screwed us up?  Would that be before or after they allowed teachers unions to run amok?  Or unions destroying the big three?  And then taxpayers bailing out two of them?  Or before the democrats shut down what was going to be the LHC in Texas in 1993?  Or democrats allowing Iran to get a secret drone?  Or letting the muslim brotherhood and other terrorists gain a major foothold in the middle east?

Boy, those republicans sure are evil.  How could they be so stupid as to allow ALL that?

  • Henry Wood

Actually these kids reminded me a lot of the Tea Klan’s reaction to the ’08 elections.

It must be tough living in your demented version of reality.

The fat kid who said he hates his parents over the bad gift doesn’t deserve anything else. That kind of entitlement mentality is what leads to Occupy Wall Street.

  • Anonymous

Dude, buy a sense of humor.  Your kind of mentality is what leads to teabaggin’.

  • Anonymous

Great parenting to laugh at your kid telling someone to suck his balls.

  • Robert Shlumboski

The piece, while funny, personifies what wretched and selfish beings children have been reduced to in America.  Commercial zombies, and you can thank media for their social stagnation.  How will you handle them when the cupboards run dry?

  • Anonymous

I think that fat kid freaking out is the same kid that freaked in his halloween prank. I feel sorry for his parents.

  • Anonymous

Apparently, you think that child “sprang full blown from the head of Zeus.”

Like it or not, it’s the PARENTS who teach their children how to behave, by word and deed. Children are keen observers and poor interpreters. What unfortunate children to have such childish, self-absorbed parents.

  • Anonymous

I agree. His parents shape his behaviour. This kid is going turn into a terrible adult. And his parents are too self absorbed to realize that they don’t look good as parents when thousands of people see their son acting like a spoiled brat (twice)

damn war on christmas–cannot even exploit the birth of our lord without some liberal goofing up our capitalist, fake holiday …

That was really funny.truth in innocence

I am a parent and a grandparent.  This entire little “comedy” from Kimmel was cruel and about as funny as a root canal.

You don’t purposefully go out to ridicule and “record” children’s reactions to a horrible attempt at humor, just to give adults a laugh.

Imagine if any of these children decide to go into some public field as adults, and this stupid, ridiculous tape comes to light.

You don’t push children’s buttons and sit back laughing about it.  It is sadistic and relegates the perpetrators as first class bullies.

  • Anonymous

Your point?  Only the one on top of your head.  Children are not a “psychological experiment” doofus.

“They should be grateful you’re not their parent.

You want to teach kids humility? Take them to work a couple of hours at a soup kitchen, show them how many are less fortunate and to show kindness towards others. A bully would think this is a “teaching” moment – only in the mind of a sadist.

Although some of these are funny, they may have unexpected negative consequences. Children often retain memories from childhood vividly the rest of their lives.

My story–one year my quite young son was behaving terribly..he also found some presents in the attic wrapped, he apparently unwrapped them and tried to re-wrap and obviously we could tell. After being bad for some time, and ignoring the warning Santa might not leave naughty boys anything, he just continued so my husband and I decided to do this thing,

We started counting the days off till Christmas but we shorted it a day leading my son to think December 24th was Christmas. Gosh it makes me sad now to even write it. down he bounded the stairs all happy, only to see some half eaten cookies and milk and nothing but a note from Santa that said he was sad to say Jeffrey had not been good and he could not leave presents for him but he added if he really was good today, that he might tomorrow leave his presents.

My son was inconsolable, crushed,  and cried his joy turning to sadness,  and was so good that day and so worried as Christmas before was  always was a mountain of presents and great fun. He was just so shocked. My ex husband thought it was funny, but looking back through the prism of year of living,   I see we had kind of ruined the happiest day of the year for one whose innocence had not yet lead to sadness. and though our intentions we thought at the time had been for the greater goo as he behaved very good for quite some ti,e, I really had not looked at it much from childhood eyes if everything being so intense during those years.

Naturally the next day, he got his presents but you know I through the years sometimes we bring  this up and he though grown is not happy or laughing, like we are when it is brought u[. He says how mean that was and that it traumatized him and even a while back at maybe age 37 he said the same thing and how awful it was to do that to a kid. FGoir him toi remembver this so vividly when he was I forget 5 or less, shows how much it negatively impressed upon him. Typing this I think I am going to apologize to him this Christmas and tell him he was right. We shouldn’t have done that.

It makes me feel it was a mistake in the long run as here one of his earlier memories is a sad, upsetting one and I feel it was a mistake to do it in retrospect though at the time I thought it was funny. At that age, we cannot know any bad memories this may spark and even affect psychologist Eric Erickson’s trust versus mistrust stage of development if done at a younger age might even be messing up the child ability to trust long term or some other thing. As they are so impressionable..it might even harm a relationship with the parents. Even worst they are recording it all for the world to see. I think though some kids may grown up and think it is funny others might not or may be embarrassed or feel betrayed at parent’s giving the world a laugh at their child’s expense. I am sure some of the parents on thisd video downloaded the video to show their child (his humiliation) when he is older,

I think it is not good to make kids cry or be angry with their parents even if temporary for Jimmy Kimmel to get a laugh, I would think twice before doing it especially if you have withheld the other presents and act like this is all they are getting. Bad idea though some of these clips are funny, don’t take that risk with your child’s psyche. You cannot always go back and fix it. Your child is bound to have at least a few bad memories growing up, don;t deliberately risk making ones for sport. who wants this to be the Christmas of all the magical and wonderful ones we had to be the one  my son never forgot like it turned out to be.

Plus they might pay you back or react in a way that gets you mad or causes you to punish them and all for what..a laugh for someone. Rethink it.I would not if I was that kids who was calling his parents names and stuff want that out there for th world to see..particularly if harsh comments are made abut him being a brat or something like that.

Calling it a prank makes it sound all innocent but the end results might be a bit worst than you anticipated. After a lifetime of doing for my child, this at least a little makes him think I was a bad parent at least then and it is just not worth it as sometimes kids forget all the many good and loving things you do and remember the memories of something they felt hurt or upset by.traumatized is the word he still uses..that is a strong word

Iin parenting there will be plenty of times you will upset your child by having to set limits etc why add some unneccary reason they could remember.,.the joke may be remembered and enjoyed by the public for 5 minutes, but the after affects might stay around a lot longer in your child’s mind and prevceptions

How can anyone SANE possibly turn this into a discussion of POLITICS?  Get a life, preferably in IRAQ!

#1 – That fat kid needs to go outside and play some basketball
#2 – And that last kid said that to his mom?  Whoa…time for you tube’s ‘Washing a Kids Mouth out with SOAP’!

  • Michael T.

I agree with you. This was nothing more than a cruel practical joke on children.

Shame on Kimmel for showing this and shame on Bill O’Reilly for showing this and stupidly calling it funny. Same goes for the Mediaite writer, Jon Bershad, who basically said the same thing.

This is the same crowd that probably thought Rush Limbaugh making fun of Michael J. Fox who has Parkinson’s was funny.

Some people are just heartless and are missing the compassion and human kindness gene.

One time my grandma got my brother a girls board game by mistake, he was about 10 which is the same age as that kid freaking out over the Hello Kitty shirt, my brother didn’t freak out we laughed our heads off about it.

I AM MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THAT LAST YOUNG MAN’S “FILTHY MOUTH”,.  IF MY CHILDREN EVER SPOKE THAT WAY, I’M NOT SURE WHAT I WOULD.
BUT  MORE DISTURBING IS  THE PARENTS RECORDED IT AND SENT IT IN. SHAME ON THEM FOR LAUGHING AT IT.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000268935222 Lisa Jay

I have children that were spoiled brats and I wish that I could have done the same thing to them because  they need to be able to appreciate what ever is given to them and dare not act as if they didnt like it.  there are children that dont have food so half eaten or not they would have loved the sandwich. And mine would have rather eat soap then to talk aloud about telling some adult to lick there balls. All in all if I had done this to my children and they didn just think it funny as it was then they would not have gotten any thing christmas day now how about that?  It all in how u raise your children what you put out is what you get back!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AVPNC3LSTCW3TV7D4Y7TUKXO5Q Brenda

Who is defending these children? They are only young children with feelings that were told they was going to receive a “special early gift”. Therefore, they deserved to receive a special early gift. I do not consider a spoiled banana, a half-eaten sandwich, pink stickers for a boy (unless he requested it) a special early gift. A gift is a gift that is to show favor towards someone. Quit blaming the children and calling them spoiled. They were deceived by their parents and their parents should be ashamed of themselves and all the the people on here that are speaking negatively about these children should be ashamed of themselves, along with Jimmy K. that suggested they do this. And for all of you that are saying that Jesus is the reason for the season, not presents – excuse me, but once again these children were told they were going to receive a special gift, therefore it is not their fault to have an expectation of something good. Stop and think about it for a moment before being so judgemental of these young lives that were exploited. They were recorded by their parents setting them up to exploit their feelings. Yes, this will stay with them the rest of their lives. You have just taught them how cruel and unkind and insensitive and uncompassionate you are. I noticed that there are adults on here saying that this happened to them as a child and it still hurts them and many of you (you know who you are) are insensitive and are telling them to get over it. Here again, you are not validating their feelings and acknowledging that this is cruel and unjust. I hope that you (the ones that are trashing these kids never need the gift of a new heart or kidney, etc. in your future. Maybe someone will lie to you (perhaps one of these betrayed kids some day) and say they have that transplant you need and get your hopes up and give you a box with a “rubber heart or kidiney in it”. And tell you to just get over it. See how you will feel then! Jesus gave us the gift of life and kindness. We are not to mock people or children especially.

Thank you for your honesty and for realizing the truth and your willingness to explain all of this and hopefully get people thinking and caring and doing what is right. I am shocked and disappointed with all of the negative comments about the children. This is not their fault and the memory will stay with them and this is what they were taught. I wrote three separate thoughts about this because it has me pretty worked up. God bless you and your son.

Libtards always exploit the children they fail to abort or indoctrinate … unbelievable!

yeah, the unions designed and (half)engineered all the wonderful Detroit iron that we’ve been blessed with. They mandated that non-car guy execs got overpaid for pushing crap (Bob Lutz excluded obviously) As far as quality, try to compare all the Mexican built “domestics” with union assembled cars. It was the UAW that forced Ford to buy a F1 team, run it into the ground (it was an up and coming entity as Stewart), then basically give it away (losing close to a Billion $ invested over the years) to owners who turned it into the dominating force in F1 (Red Bull). Not to mention that said F1 team was branded “Jaguar”, although Jaguar had virtually no performance cars at the time, and most car guys look at a Jag owner as a tool (Range Rover as well).  Yeah, the UAW does all the marketing too. They’re the reason GM couldn’t sell what was  the best “domestic” offering in its class ever- Pontiac G8.
And those bailout LOANS to GM,Chrysler are being paid back far faster than expected. It is possible that the Federal government will make a net profit.
We all missed the secret vote that the Dems (who can’t even confirm Obama’s judicial nominees) had to authorize the gifting of a drone to Iran. The same drone that was completed entirely under Bush’s DOD. The same drone that had the known defect that allowed it to be hi-jacked. Thanks Rummy!
In the Middle East, Republican administrations have armed Sadaam Hussein, Iran (thanks Ollie North!), Saudi Arabia (Bin Laden’s homeland and origin of most all 9/11 perpetrators), and militant Islamists in Afghanistan who would evolve into Taliban( ok, that started late in Carter’s admin-1980, but most all munitions were paid for under Ronnie- over $1 billion worth)

Hey thanks for sharing this. We all make mistakes as parents. I brought my son up as best I could and he turned out remarkably well but I still feel bad looking back on all the times I ranted and raved at him for some minor indiscretion back before I received the proper diagnosis of type II bipolar disorder and got on Lithium to help control my irritability. I know it was hard for him being raised by a mentally ill parent. I think you sound like you are basically a very good mom and I know he will appreciate your apology.

  • http://twitter.com/bloomingpsycho Blooming Psycho

My family was very poor when I was young. We lived in a house where big cockroaches got in and one time a cab driver was shot in front of our house by a pair of drug dealers. I appreciated every gift I got for the holidays and still do. But even at that I would have cried and wondered why my parents hated me so much if they gave me a spoiled banana for a “special gift.” I would rather have gotten no presents at all (and once again, even having been raised to be grateful, I would have been sad about this) than to have gotten something nasty like that.

  • http://twitter.com/bloomingpsycho Blooming Psycho

What in the flying flock does political stance have to do with a mean prank? You sound like you are quite indoctrinated in your own political beliefs. Really–did you ask the participants in this video what their political beliefs are?

  • Love of Country

Dude, political stance gave y’all slavery and our political stance ended slavery, our political stance ended Jim Crow and segregation.  Political stance is everything.

Your political stance is why the bIack community and education have gone straight down the tubes over the last 30 years and your political stance is why more bIacks than ever are on welfare and will never provide for themselves in the future.

Political stance is everything … it’s just that unintended consequences are completely foreign to tards and as such, they never learn their lessons.

Devastating a child’s dream on TV is something tards think is cute … tards think it’s cute when their child cusses and listens to rap music … tards never know when to say no and your Party’s desperation for wealth redistribution is case and point.

Tards make miserable parents … and as such, should NEVER question the superior wisdom of successful Republicans.

This JK video is a very sad commentary on the state of human beings as we exist today. We are so far gone –all in our quest to saturate our egos no matter the cost.  The one boy with the hello kitty t-shirt present is now a star whether he wants it or not especially with the kids at school. This present obviously hit a very sore spot with him and one that his parents exploited for their own gain and fame, or misguidingly for their son’.  The kids at school now have (even more?) material for bullying this kid and with cyper bullying added to the mix, what is going to happen to him when he is back in school after break is over??  How many bully horror stories do we have to read before we stop it BEFORE it starts, let alone add fuel to the fire!!!!!   An old anthem comes to mind here, “… how many deaths will it take till he knows,  that too many people have died?  The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind, the answer is blowin’ in the wind…”

Yet one more example of how we (as a nation) fail our kids and then complain about what is “going wrong with them,” the “whys” and “wherefors”  all while blantatly denying our own hyprocrisy or responsibility.  We reinforce negative behavior and then “wonder” why (!) children choose to continue the behavior we have “rewarded”?  Getting a “stupid book” for a present is seen as “cute, funny” or even marketable (at least for network ratings and JK) and then we wonder why literacy levels plumet and foreigners and ESL students speak better English then we do.
