Cable news ratings, August 25, 2010: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:

• Keith Olbermann‘s repeat at 10pmET was the top cable news show, not on Fox News, in the A25-54 demographic – far ahead of Anderson Cooper (in New Orleans) and Nancy Grace on HLN.

• Two programs that performed especially poorly in the demo were CNN’s 7 and 8pmET shows – John King‘s and Rick Sanchez‘s – 62,000 and 72,000 viewers.

Why not “hosted by someone frequently replaced by Lawrence O’Donnell” and “By a newscaster/commentator who reads James Thurber at the end of each Friday’s program”?

I watch him myself, but these are stats that only his late mother could love.

Maybe people didn’t realize that Anderson was back. Although Anderson made his name during Katrina and he did make an effort to be there this week, last night’s show was not impressive.

Frankly, he could have phoned it in.
