CNN’s Gloria Borger: Trump and Omarosa Are ‘Two Peas in a Pod,’ ‘They Deserve Each Other’
CNN’s Gloria Borger appeared on CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin today as part of a panel discussion following the White House press briefing. On the topic of Omarosa Manigault and her credibility and allegations, Borger effectively described how Donald Trump and Omarosa are a perfect match who “deserve each other.”
At the beginning of the discussion, host Baldwin played a clip of Omarosa saying that the President isn’t fit for the office he holds. It was on that point that Borger began her argument.
“Just listening to that video you just played of Omarosa saying Donald Trump shouldn’t be president of the United States, having listened to Omarosa for years talk about how marvelous and how wonderful Donald Trump is, it makes me think that they’re––they deserve each other,” she said. “They are very much the same people in many ways.”
She went on then to describe the ways in which they are the same. “Each of them is ruthless in its own way. Each person has a strange relationship with the truth. She’s out to make a buck here. She will do whatever she has to do. Donald Trump’s organization will sue her back.”
“But I think that the thing that has always united them is this sense of false flattery that they did for each other,” she observed. “I mean he would flatter Omarosa falsely. She would flatter him falsely. And they both loved it. So they’re two peas in a pod here. The fight they’re having, all I can say is, you know, they deserve each other. Let them, you know, let them go at it.”
“But understand that neither one of them has a– is a hero here, or has any kind of a clean slate when it comes to this” she concluded.
Nailed it.
