Jimmy Kimmel Pulls Out a Chalkboard To Analyse Rudy Giuliani’s ABC Interview

Jimmy Kimmel went to great lengths to full comprehend what Rudy Giuliani said during an interview on This Week.

Kimmel began by addressing the “old” and “scary” volcano that “erupted over the weekend” (and no, not the one in Hawaii) and played a clip of his interview with George Stephanopoulos when he incoherently was responding to a question about whether President Trump knew about Michael Cohen‘s payment to Stormy Daniels after the campaign.

“I gotta tell you, I don’t even know what he was trying to say,” Kimmel reacted.

Kimmel wanted to look at what Giuliani said “closely” and in order to do so, he asked his sidekick and security guard Guillermo Rodriguez to bring out a chalkboard that had Giuliani’s full response to Stephanopoulos’ question already written. He then guided the audience word for word with minimal commentary. Eventually, he asked Guillermo to put the chalkboard back.

“I could go over it two dozen more times, it wouldn’t make a difference,” Kimmel said.

He theorized that Team Trump’s “strategy right now” is to “put someone out there who’s even nuttier than Trump to make him look normal by comparison” and that “it’s working.”

Kimmel then played a clip to Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti, who came on immediately after Giuliani, and called the interview a “train wreck”  and “may be one of the worst TV appearances by any attorney on behalf of a client in modern times.”

“So he’s saying there’s room for improvement,” Kimmel chuckled.
