Whoopi Trashes Jesse Watters and Other Fox Hosts Criticizing VP Harris’ View Appearance: ‘You Are the Snowflakiest People I’ve Ever Seen’

After Vice President Kamala Harris’ buzzy appearance on ABC’s The View on Wednesday, some Fox News hosts took issue with her flat-out admitting she was “scared as heck” of a second term for former President Donald Trump. On Thursday’s episode of The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg turned the criticism back around, calling the Fox hosts “the snowflakiest people I’ve ever seen.”

The show’s first segment on Thursday played a montage of Fox News hosts including Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, and Lawrence Jones offering up various criticisms of Harris’ comments, asking what she was so afraid of, if she was “prepared” for the interview, and accusing her of a lack of confidence. Goldberg dove right in:

You know, you folks are the snowflakiest people I’ve ever seen. You don’t know what she’s scared of? You don’t know? You haven’t been listening to what this man has said he’s going to do on day one, how he’s treated women? You don’t think we’re uncomfortable when somebody says, “Yeah, I’m the guy that got rid of, you know, Roe versus Wade.” What do you mean, “What are you scared of?”

Co-host Joy Behar added:

But what you just said. The guy himself has said, “I’m going to be a dictator on day one. I’m going to roll back Roe v. Wade.” One of the few times he actually told the truth. And that is what you should be scared of. And Kamala, basically she’s not personally scared. She’s scared for the country because the country will have a problem if he is in office. And he also will go after his enemies. Hello?

Then co-host Sara Haines joked: “I think Alyssa’s at risk the most!” referring to former Trump staffer and View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin. Co-host Sunny Hostin had more to add to that, putting Harris’ comments in a context that the Fox hosts didn’t:

You know, I mean, yes, she’s the second most powerful person in the world and she’s telling you, “Be very, very afraid.” She’s explaining to you that our our democracy really is an experiment. We’re a very young country. And that experiment can fail in the hands of a dictator. We’ve seen it happen in history. There have been great nations that no longer exist because of someone like a Donald Trump. And so I want the second most powerful person in the world, who happens to be a woman, tell me, “Be very, very afraid.”

Behar did give credit to one Fox host, Kayleigh McEnany, another former Trump staffer who actually praised Harris’ appearance, and who, as Behar pointed out, is still a Trump supporter:

She praised Kamala Harris by saying that it was smart to focus on abortion. She said, “What Kamala is doing is powerful among young women.”
